In the inflatable kayak world Sea Eagle is a well known and respected brand name and company. In my search for an inflatable kayak, I spent a lot of time researching different brands, makes and models of kayaks. I learned a lot about Sea Eagle boats like why they are so popular, what makes them special as well as the negatives of using one of their inflatable kayaks.
Why are Sea Eagle Inflatable Kayaks so Popular?
- They are very affordable. Sea Eagle offers kayaks ranging in price from $250 up to just over $1000. They have something that everyone can afford.
- They offer inflatable kayaks that will perform on every type of water. Sea Eagle kayaks, especially their explorer kayaks can handle flatwater paddling and still take on heavy whitewater rapids. They are extremely versatile.
- They offer something for everyone. There are three different styles of kayaks to choose from. There is the Sport Kayaks which are more of a beginner kayak/canoe that is perfect for someone just wanting to get out on the water and have some fun. There is the Explorer Kayaks which are bigger and more rugged. They are excellent for kayaking lakes, whitewater rapids and ocean swells. The Explorer Kayaks can be used for exploration and adventure. Then there is also the PaddleSki which is a completely versatile kayak that offers the option of paddling, rowing, sailing or motoring.
- They are light enough to bring traveling or anywhere you want to go in the world. Sea Eagle inflatable kayaks range in weight from a mere 24 pounds up to 52 pounds. They are great for camping, vacationing, fishing, relaxing and adventure.

- Tracking is only so-so. The tracking isn’t bad and for recreational use there will be no problem. However if you are used to using a high performance kayak that offers great tracking and speed, you may be disappointed.
Final Thoughts on Sea Eagle Inflatable Kayaks
After all of my research I did become a fan of the Sea Eagle kayaks. My particular favorite is the 380 which is one of the explorer kayaks. They are great for the recreational kayaker who wants a great quality boat for an affordable price. I also loved that Sea Eagle puts together a package for you that includes your kayak, paddles, seats, pump and bag… all for a great price. Even though there are a few negatives, I still think that most people would be quite happy with these boats. It’s just a matter of finding the right that will suit your needs. However there are lots of other great brands of inflatable kayaks as well that all offer different pros and cons. I would suggest spending a little time on your research before you choose which kayak to purchase.
